Comments: The Four Holes Swamp Christmas Bird Count occurs on the first Monday within the count period each year. We typically split into 10 teams to cover the 12 sections of our count circle. Each team will have a leader(s) that will organize the logistics for their team on the count day. We welcome any and all new participants to this count! However, since many teams do not meet at the visitor center to start the day, please contact the compiler of this count in advance to get instructions on where to meet. As in past years, we will offer snacks and warm beverages at our center after the count is complete as a small token of our appreciation for volunteering. This is also a great time to recount the highlights of the day with other birders. If you would like to participate in this year’s Four Holes Swamp Christmas Bird Count, please e-mail Matt Johnson (mgjohnson@audubon.org) as soon as possible so that we can place you in a section. We hope you'll join us for this important community science endeavor!
