Directions to Us
Beidler Forest
FROM CHARLESTON OR THE EAST: Take I-26 WEST to Exit 187. Make a left turn onto Highway 27 (South) to Highway 78. Make a right turn onto Highway 78 (West). At the fork in the road, veer right onto Highway 178. Make a right onto Francis Beidler Forest Road (first paved right). After 4 miles the road will make a 90-degree turn to the left, veer right onto Mims Road. We're a mile on the right!
FROM I-95, COLUMBIA OR WEST: Take I-26 EAST to Exit 177. Make a right hand turn onto Highway 453 (South) to Highway 178. Make a left turn onto Highway 178 (East). Go through the town of Harleyville. Six miles later make the left turn onto Francis Beidler Forest Road. After 4 miles the road will make a 90-degree turn to the left, veer right onto Mims Road. We're a mile on the right!
Note: Your GPS just might take you on a different route than our signs. That's perfectly fine, either way will get you here. Your GPS might also tell you you've arrive at your destination when you're only halfway down our forested road. Just keep going.
Silver Bluff
FROM I-95 OR EAST: Exit I-95 at Highway 78 (St. George exit) travelling west. Follow Highway 78 for about an hour and fifteen minutes and veer left onto Tinker Creek Rd (781). This road ends at a stop sign and you'll want to turn right onto Highway 278 (Williston Road). Follow this for a ways and turn left on Silver Bluff Rd, which will eventually transition into a well maintained dirt road. The visitor center and parking lot will be on your right.
FROM AUGUSTA OR THE WEST: Take Highway 28 (Sandbar Ferry Road) out of Augusta and veer left onto Highway 5 (Old Jackson Hwy). Turn left on Silver Bluff Road, which will eventually transition into a well maintained dirt road. The visitor center and parking lot will be on your right.
