Dear Beidler Forest Audubon Center and Audubon South Carolina supporters:

Beidler's boardwalk is OPEN! Pre-registration is required and our hours of operation have changed. Beginning March 18th, the boardwalk at Beidler will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays to visitors who pre-register. Two sessions will be offered: morning (9am-12pm) and afternoon (1pm-4pm). Please click here to pre-register your visit to the boardwalk!

If you are a Beidler annual pass-holder and would like to make a reservation, please reach out to staff at beidler@audubon.org or call the visitor center at (843) 462-2150. If you would like to become a Beidler annual pass-holder and support your favorite swamp please click here to purchase an annual pass.

If you are unable to register for a walk on our boardwalk, consider visiting the new Grasslands-Woodland Trails near the entrance to the center! These trails allow visitors to experience our Longleaf Pine and grassland restoration sites in a safe and socially-distant way. No admissions or reservations are required, although online donations are always appreciated.

For those who have visited the Center before, please be prepared for some changes when you return:

  • Online Registration: To reduce chances of Covid-19 spreading, we are limiting the number of visitors allowed on the boardwalk. Advanced registration is required, and no tickets will be sold on site.
  • Hours: Our open days and hours have been limited to Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. We encourage you to arrive no later than 10am for a morning session and no later than 2pm for an afternoon session - that way you have plenty of time to enjoy our 1.75 mile boardwalk!
  • Visitor Center Closure: The visitor center will remain closed until further notice. This means no access to indoor restrooms, water fountains, snacks, and merchandise. A handicap accessible portable toilet will be available for visitor use.
  • Masks & Social Distancing: When checking-in and passing other visitors on the boardwalk, visitors are asked to wear a mask. Please keep at least six feet apart from employees and other visitors (outside of your group) at all times.

Beidler staff and volunteers look forward to your visit. Get your tickets!
