For more than a century, Audubon has been at the forefront of science-based bird conservation. Here in South Carolina, our work prioritizes several dozen birdspecies whose conservation challenges are significant, and whose status our work can measurably improve.
With these priority species in mind, we seek to protect several million acres of land in South Carolina that these birds need in order to survive. We also undertake research that reveals what they’ll need to thrive over the long haul.
To learn more about the birds you love, please join Audubon South Carolina or one of our local chapters for our frequent bird-watching events. And/or participate in avian research as a citizen scientist. Also, check out our free online Audubon Guide to North American Birds, which is available, too, as a phone app.
