Being Our Best For The Birds

Audubon South Carolina is monitoring and adapting to life during the COVID-19 pandemic, while working hard to continue protecting our birds and the habitats they need throughout our state

Dear Audubon South Carolina Supporters and Friends,

On behalf of Audubon South Carolina, I want to extend our deepest wishes that you, your families and your communities are doing well in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With programs, chapters and staff throughout the state, ASC is carefully monitoring and adapting to the changing situation while working hard to continue protecting our birds and the habitats they need.

In order to protect the health and well-being of our staff, volunteers and visitors and to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we are closing our downtown office, as well as Beidler Forest Audubon Center & Sanctuary until June 30. We will continue to monitor the situation with direction from local, state and federal officials.

Until then, we encourage you to visit our Silver Bluff Audubon Center & Sanctuary in Jackson, South Carolina. Come see our outdoor spaces and enjoy fresh air in nature—bring along your kids and walk the trails. It’s the beginning of migration season and our summer birds are returning. Look for Red-headed Woodpeckers, Cooper's Hawks, and Wood Storks! Our trails and grounds will be available from 9 am–5 pm, but our main facilities and restrooms will remain closed.

At this time, all scheduled and/or ticketed events have been canceled until June 30. Please contact sarah.mckenna@audubon.org with any questions or concerns regarding refunds.

As we all take responsibility to slow the spread of COVID-19 please remember to bring hand sanitizer, practice safe social distancing of 6-10 ft, and do NOT share binoculars.

Thank you for your ongoing support! We encourage you to continue visiting our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as our website for any updates.

If you are stuck indoors and need a birdy-distraction, Joy of Birds is a beautiful page filled with Audubon’s favorite bird photos, videos, and stories!

Take care, talk soon.
