Action Center

Audubon uses science, advocacy, education, and conservation to protect birds and the places they need in South Carolina, now and in the future.

While Audubon South Carolina monitors and supports a broad set of conservation issues that affect our birds and our state, our primary legislative and conservation priorities today include:

  • Doubling protect lands in the state, with a focus on prioritizing key bird habitat
  • Promoting resilience and the use of natural infrastructure in flood-prone areas, particularly vulnerable coastal habitat and communities
  • Addressing the impacts of climate change, which Audubon's science tells us will impact the majority of birds in South Carolina, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions through adoption of clean energy and natural climate solutions
