Action Center

Audubon uses science, advocacy, education, and conservation to protect birds and the places they need in South Carolina, now and in the future.

Audubon South Carolina monitors and takes action to support a broad set of conservation and legislative issues that affect birds in the Palmetto state. Currently, our top priorities include:

  • Doubling protect lands in the state, with a focus on prioritizing key bird habitat
  • Promoting resilience and the use of natural infrastructure in flood-prone areas, particularly vulnerable coastal habitat and communities
  • Addressing the impacts of climate change, which Audubon's science tells us will impact the majority of birds in South Carolina, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions through adoption of clean energy and natural climate solutions
