Walnut Branch Creek
2120 East Main Street, Dorchester
In celebration of Native Plant Week, come join Audubon South Carolina for a special walk through the woods at one of Beidler Forest's newest properties - Walnut Branch. This unique piece of land sits on a bluff overlooking Four Holes Swamp, a few miles downstream from the visitor’s center and boardwalk. This two-hour hike will be led by David Bourgeois, Forester for the Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation. David was previously a forester for WestRock, who owned the property before Audubon, and has extensive knowledge of the plant community at Walnut Branch. Audubon staff will also be on hand to point out birds and offer bird-friendly tips for backyards and community spaces.
This program is free but does require registration. There are a limited number of spots available, so please sign up quickly! To register click here.
