Beidler Forest Boardwalk Pre-registration

Beginning October 15th, the boardwalk at Beidler Forest Audubon Center will be opened to a limited number of pre-registered guests on ThursdaysFridays, and one Saturday a month from 9AM until 1PM.

Pre-registration is required to access the boardwalk, and spaces are limited, so please use the links below to register in advance for your visit. Be sure to review all information on this page to ensure you're prepared for your visit.

If you are unable to register for a walk on our boardwalkconsider visiting the new Grasslands-Woodland Trails near the entrance to the center! These trails allow visitors to experience our Longleaf Pine and grassland restoration sites in a safe and socially-distant way.  No admissions or reservations are required, although online donations are greatly appreciated.

Register for Thursday, January 21st, 2021 from 9AM-1PM
Register for Friday, January 22nd, 2021 from 9AM-1PM
Register for Thursday, January 28th, 2021 from 9AM-1PM
Register for Friday, January 29th, 2021 from 9AM-1PM
Register for Friday, February 5th, 2021 from 9AM-1PM
Register for Saturday, February 6th, 2021 from 9AM-1PM

Upon arrival, call the visitor center to check-in at (843) 462-2150. After checking in over the phone, enter trailhead near portable toilet through a short wooded trail to access the entrance of our 1.75 mile boardwalk. Call the visitor center if you have any questions or concerns. 


We suggest guests arrive no later than 11AM, as we want you to have plenty of time to enjoy your walk and the sanctuary will close at 1 PM.  


As the boardwalk opens, please be prepared for these changes: 

  • Online Registration: To reduce chances of Covid-19 spreadingwe are limiting the number of visitors allowed on the boardwalk. Advanced registration will be required, and no tickets will be sold on site.

  • Hours: Our open days and hours will be greatly reduced. Currently, we will only be open Thursdays and Fridays, 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Please arrive no later than 11am. Please note, some registration days may very due to holidays.  

  • Visitor Center Closure: The visitor center will remain closed for the foreseeable future. This means there will be no access to restrooms, water fountains, or the gift shop. A handicap accessible portable toilet will be available for visitor use.  

  • Masks & Social Distancing: When passing other visitors on the boardwalk, visitors are asked to wear a mask.  Please keep at least 6 feet apart from visitors not in your group or family at all times.

Before Arriving:
From our website, print or download a guidebook at home (there will be no guidebooks available on site). Make sure to pack a mask/face covering, hand sanitizer, and any drinks or snacks.  

Upon Arriving:
Please call (843) 462-2150 upon arrival so staff can check you in and answer any questions over the phone.  Wear or bring your mask with you; wear it if you see other visitors nearby and do not gather in groups of people outside of those you arrived with, and please keep at least 6 feet apart from staff and other visitors and avoid high-touch surfaces such as benches and picnic tables. 

On the Boardwalk:
Wear a mask if there are other visitors nearby and be sure to stay at least 6 feet apart from others. Please step aside to allow others to pass.
