  Welcome to Audubon South Carolina!

We encourage you to explore our website and learn what Audubon South Carolina does . . . what's happening to birds and their habitat in our state . . . and what you can do to protect the places that birds and other wildlife call "home" here in South Carolina.

We're blessed with a great diversity of birds across this state, and whether you can recognize the call of a Swainson's Warbler, or just know a Cardinal when you see one, we invite you to investigate all that Audubon South Carolina has to offer.

Discover what’s happening at South Carolina’s Audubon Centers at Francis Beidler Forest (outside Charleston, in Harleyville) and Silver Bluff (in Jackson, near Aiken). These links provide information on activities and upcoming events as well as directions and contact information for each location. We’ll look forward to your visit!

Seeing the Forest for the Trees
June 9-13, 2008
Seeing the Forest for the Trees is a hands-on workshop in the Forests of the Low Country. Teachers spend five days with forestry professionals to get a better understanding of the many goals of the Low Country's forests. At the end of the week, teachers are Project Learning Tree (PLT) trained and able to use this award-winning, standards-based, environmental education program in the classroom and will qualify for 33 recertification units. More details here.

  Folly Beach County Park

ASC will be partnering with Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) to lead a monthly bird walk at Folly Beach County Park.

The beach offers a fantastic setting for beginner and intermediate bird-watchers to learn more about birds. Walks will be held on the second Friday of each month between 10 am – 12 pm. The program will be co-led by Audubon’s Jeff Mollenhauer and CCPRC’s Keith McCullough.

There is no cost for the walk, but there is a $7.00 parking fee to enter the county park. Advanced registration is required and space is limited. To reserve your spot, visit http://www.ccprc.com or call 843-795-4FUN (4386).
