The female Ichnuemon Wasp (Megarhyssa macrurus) was photographed on 4/15/08 from the boardwalk at the Audubon Center at Francis Beidler Forest by Dr. Chase Hunter as the insect used her ovipositor to place eggs deep within the tunnel of a wood-boring insect. The young will hatch and feed on the larvae of the wood-boring insects.
