Backyard Bird Count |

The
Great
Backyard Bird Count
is an annual event that engages bird watchers of all
ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot
of where the birds are across the continent. Anyone
can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts.
It takes as little as 15 minutes. It’s free,
fun, and easy—and it helps the birds. Participants
tally the highest number of birds of each species
seen together at any one time (teachers: click

provides riders nearly 14 miles of trails winding
through the varied habitats at Silver Bluff. A mile
of trail near the Savannah River was a new addition

On
March 20th, the public is invited to Silver Bluff
Audubon Sanctuary in Jackson, SC, to enjoy a day in
nature filled with wonderful activities. Four-in-Hand
Club members Jack Wetzel and Jacqueline Ohrstrom are
sponsoring the event to introduce the public to the
unique beauty of Silver Bluff and to raise funds to
support the protection of this remarkable natural
asset just outside Aiken.
Attendees
will be able to enjoy guided bird walks and raptor
demonstrations and to view the coaches and carriages
as they wind along the wooded trail. The day will
culminate with luncheon catered by the Green Boundary
Club. Reservations are required. ($50/person) All
proceeds benefit the Audubon Sanctuary at Silver Bluff.

to Beidler Forest each Spring. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres

the endangered Wood Storks at Silver Bluff Audubon
Center's Kathwood Ponds near Aiken, South Carolina.
